‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Pilot Confirmed To Have Supervising Art Director David Allday – Worked On Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Robin Hood’

Yesterday, we revealed that HBO’s Game of Thrones pilot (aka Bloodmoon) has Chernobyl art director Matt Klaentschi working on it. There is another addition we’ve learned as well as we can now confirm that the pilot’s supervising art director will be David Allday.

David’s credits include Gladiator, Robin Hood, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Alexander, Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Event Horizon, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, The Legend of Tarzan, 47 Ronin, and John Carter.

HN previously confirmed that the pilot’s production designer would be Luke Hull, who recently worked on Chernobyl and King Arthur: Legend of The Sword.

The untitled series using the working title of Bloodmoon for the pilot is said to explore the origins of the White Walkers and will take place thousands of years before the events of Season 1 of Game of Thrones.

S.J. Clarkson is directing the pilot which was written by Jane Goldman. If the show goes to series, Jane will be the series showrunner for that first season (possibly beyond).

The cast consists of Naomi Watts, Georgie Henley, Jamie Campbell Bower, Miranda Richardson, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Sheila Atim, Denise Gough, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo, John Simm, Dixie Egerickx, John Hefferman, Ivanno Jeremiah, Richard McCabe, and Marquis Rodriguez.

HBO has yet to give a full series order as they’re currently shooting the pilot in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
