‘Ironheart’ Series Rumor From the Fall Resurfaces

A rumor has been making the rounds online for months that Disney/Marvel Studios is in early development on an Ironheart series for Disney+. One of the sites that echoed that rumor included MCU Cosmic, who posted on it back in November.

Ironheart would focus on brilliant teenager Riri Williams.

Genius Riri Williams, inspired by Tony Stark, decides to build her own suit of incredible armor to fight for the good of humanity. This super-smart gal works hard and brings a lot of humanity to her role as the Super Hero Ironheart.

The rumor has resurfaced with a new claim from The Cinema Spot, that the series is indeed in the works at Marvel.

However, there isn’t any mention of writers, showrunner, or a director. Without confirmation from Marvel Studios and Disney, we’ll have to wait to see if Ironheart will be announced officially.

It is worth noting that Robert Downey Jr. has given his support to see Williams join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It would be interesting to see Williams carrying over the Iron Man mantle, and could fit nicely into a Young Avengers roster as we’ll be seeing multiple members in the near future.

There are plenty of other Disney+ series being reported and rumored, one of them was is a series focused on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cosmic counterpart S.W.O.R.D. that will be introduced in the series WandaVision. It’s all but assumed a S.W.O.R.D. series would have a connection to Captain Marvel 2 given that WandaVision will see an adult Monica Rambeau (alter ego Captain Marvel aka Spectrum) working for the organization.

COVID-19 delays might see that shows like WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winder Soldier, and Loki won’t be completed on time. This could mean other shows like Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel will lead to a domino effect with those shoots bumped into 2021 instead of 2020.

The Cinema Spot mentions Ironheart eyeing a production shoot in 2021, however, with all the 2020 production delays with both television and features that might be more wishful thinking than a concrete target.

Would you be excited to see an Ironheart series?
