Mark Ruffalo Says There Have Been Preliminary Talks With Marvel About The ‘She-Hulk’ Series

It looks like that character breakdown for She-Hulk wasn’t off-base when it teased Bruce Banner potentially being on the series as he’s the cousin of Jennifer Walters and contributes to her superhero origin story after a blood transfusion.

Mark Ruffalo has spoken publicly at C2E2 in Chicago this weekend about having “preliminary talks” with Marvel about appearing in She-Hulk, multiple outlets heard Ruffalo make the statement including ComicBook

That’s far from him saying he’s signed-on or 100% joining the series, but it’s an interesting development given Mark’s character happens to be the cousin of She-Hulk in the comic books.

Marvel Studios has yet to announced who will end up playing Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk on the series.

However, here’s what Alison Brie recently told James Corden during an interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden when asked about the recent rumor that Marvel was looking to cast an Alison Brie-type for She-Hulk.

BRIE: “I really don’t go on Twitter anymore, it’s dangerous. So I didn’t realize it was such a trending thing I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of like side-by-side of me and She-Hulk. Which I just thought ‘cool’ and then that quote about an Alison Brie-type.”

“Honestly, I found very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the Anne Hathaway-type or the Zooey Deschanel-type, I was very flattered to be my own ‘type’.”

CORDEN: But did you go ‘wait, I’d like to play the She-Hulk’?

BRIE: “And then I made some phone calls and we’ll talk about it later”

CORDEN: Did you really?

BRIE: “[laughs and smiles] No, no.”

CORDEN: Why, do you not want to play She-Hulk?

BRIE: “I find it interesting.”

CORDEN: I’ll be honest, I started this as a loose line of conversation and now I’m absolutely convinced that you’re playing She-Hulk. But I’m not going to ask you anything more about it.

She-Hulk is expected to begin shooting this summer under the working title of Libra in Atlanta, Georgia and is most likely going to begin airing on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
