Bad Robot’s Supernatural Western Thriller ‘The Pinkerton’ Will Be Their First Project At WB – Penned By ‘F9′ & ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Screenwriter Dan Casey

We’ve finally learned what the first Bad Robot project at Warner Bros. will be as a new report from TheHollywoodReporter reveals what that first film might be.

Bad Robot is developing a spec-script penned by 10 Cloverfield Lane and F9 screenwriter Dan Casey which is titled The Pinkerton, a supernatural thriller that is also seemingly a western as well.

Moving aggressively, Warner Bros. Pictures has preemptively snatched up The Pinkerton, a spec script by Daniel Casey, for J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production banner.

The logline details are being kept behind the silver badge but the project has been described as a supernatural revenge thriller in what sources say is a Western setting. Pinkertons were the name of the detectives from the agency that got its start in the mid-1800s, becoming famous for acting as security for President Abraham Lincoln and working for corporations during America’s industrial age.

WarnerMedia made a deal with Bad Robot that was reportedly valued around $250 million, The Pinkerton seemingly would be their first project together after the closing of this new deal.

They failed to mention a director for The Pinkerton or when they plan to get cameras rolling.

Other projects in the works from Bad Robot include Lou, an action film starring Oscar-winner Allison Janney (I, Tonya) that we’ve recently reported will begin shooting soon in the Vancouver area.
