Alison Brie Comments On ‘She-Hulk’ Casting Rumor

The other day there was a rumor circulating that Marvel Studios was considering casting an “Alison Brie-type” to play Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk in their upcoming Disney+ series.

Brie appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and James brought up the rumor which was exploding on Twitter and Alison responded with this.

BRIE: “I really don’t go on Twitter anymore, it’s dangerous. So I didn’t realize it was such a trending thing I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of like side-by-side of me and She-Hulk. Which I just thought ‘cool’ and then that quote about an Alison Brie-type.”

“Honestly, I found very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the Anne Hathaway-type or the Zooey Deschanel-type, I was very flattered to be my own ‘type’.”

CORDEN: But did you go ‘wait, I’d like to play the She-Hulk’?

BRIE: “And then I made some phone calls and we’ll talk about it later”

CORDEN: Did you really?

BRIE: “[laughs and smiles] No, no.”

CORDEN: Why, do you not want to play She-Hulk?

BRIE: “I find it interesting.”

CORDEN: I’ll be honest, I started this as a loose line of conversation and now I’m absolutely convinced that you’re playing She-Hulk. But I’m not going to ask you anything more about it.

You can watch that exchange below.

It should be noted that most of the Community cast has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the Russo Brothers.

We currently don’t know who will be directing She-Hulk but Jessica Gao (Rick & Morty) will be the lead writer on the Marvel show.

Filming under the working title Libra is said to begin later this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.

She-Hulk might be heading to Disney+ sometime in 2022.
