It’s a wrap on The Suicide Squad!

Writer/director James Gunn has posted on his Instagram account that The Suicide Squad has wrapped filming and posted this following statement.

GUNN: “And that’s a wrap on The Suicide Squad. My father died two weeks before we started filming and my dog died two weeks before the end. It was a hard, hard time in my life and yet the most fulfilling time I’ve ever had making a movie. The professionalism, talent, compassion and kindness of this cast and crew inspired me every day. Thanks to everyone involved in this film, in every stage of development, in every department – I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for you all. You are why I make movies.”

The cast of the DC Comics sequel (expected to be R-rated) includes Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, John Cena, Alice Braga (Predators, New Mutants), Taika, Waititi, Peter Capaldi, Joaquin Cosio (Quantum of Solace, Narcos: Mexico), David Dastmalchian, Sean Gunn, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Steve Agee, Daniela Melchior, Jennifer Holland, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Julio Ruiz, Juan Diego Botto, and Tinashe Kajese.
