The live-action series Titans will be debuting on DC’s flagship streaming service, DC Universe and we are getting more and more insight as to what it’s going to look like. The most recent revelation is that Seamus Dever, known for his role as Detective Kevin Ryan in the ABC series Castle, will be joining the cast as the show’s main antagonist Trigon, according to FandomWire.
Details on just who that villain would be were unclear for a while. The comic book source material for the live-action series depicts the superhero group as squaring off against Deathstroke. But now according to the new report, it looks like Dever will in fact be playing the powerful demon Trigon.
With powers including shapeshifting, telepathy, invulnerability, super strength, and reality manipulation, Trigon is not going to be an easy foe. Especially considering Justice League and the Teen Titans were easily defeated by the villain in the source material but it is unclear as of now just how powerful Trigon will be in the upcoming series.
The inclusion of Trigon has another interesting angle: he’s the father of hero and Teen Titans member Raven. It’s long been rumored that Raven’s origins and her parentage would be a focus of the series, and Dever’s casting as Trigon would certainly cement that.
