Filming for the Men in Black spin off film is officially underway. Pictures recently surfaced of the Avengers star, Chris Hemsworth, all suited up on set. The initial Men in Black was released back in 1997, the sequel made its debut in 2002, and the third in 2012. Now Sony is working on a pin off film, not much is known yet about the plot, but we can safely assume there will be plenty of blasting of alien scum, and wiping of memories to come.
The star studded cast for this new endeavor includes, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, and Rafe Spall. In addition, F. Gary Gray, director of Straight Outta Compton and more recently The Fate of the Furious, will be directing the upcoming blockbuster.
The detail we do know about the film is that instead of taking place in the U.S, the fourth film of the franchise will take place in the United Kingdom, with the agents working for the UK’s branch of the top-secret government organization.
Although we’ll be missing Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones classic shenanigans, we have high hopes for Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who will be replacing the duo as the new main characters of the film.
