Variety is reporting that Indian-American actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is in final negotiations to take an unnamed role in new Matrix film directed by Lana Wachowski.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is taking the red pill.
The actress and international beauty icon is in final talks to join the cast of the untitled fourth film in the Matrix saga, the Wachowskis’ game-changing action franchise, insiders close to negotiations said.
Filming is expected to begin February 5th in San Francisco, California and finished filming there around March 1st (Chicago is also said to be a location).
The cast includes Keanu Reeves (Neo), Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), and Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe), Jessica Henwick (Godzilla vs Kong, Iron Fist, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Neil Patrick Harris (Starship Troopers, Gone Girl), Toby Onwumere, Erendira Ibarra (Sense8), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman).
It’ll be interesting to see if the release of Matrix 4 launches a new trilogy along with a potential series on HBO or HBO Max, as Warner Bros. brass has suggested in the past how important the franchise is to them.
Their production team is expected to include cinematographer John Toll (Cloud Atlas, The Last Samurai, Braveheart) and stunt coordinator Monique Ganderton (Avengers: Endgame, Chaos Walking).
Keanu Reeves is also getting ready to shoot John Wick: Chapter 4 this year as well.
Matrix 4 is set to be released on May 21st, 2021.
Neo (Keanu Reeves) believes that Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), an elusive figure considered to be the most dangerous man alive, can answer his question — What is the Matrix? Neo is contacted by Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), a beautiful stranger who leads him into an underworld where he meets Morpheus. They fight a brutal battle for their lives against a cadre of viciously intelligent secret agents. It is a truth that could cost Neo something more precious than his life.
