Official Trailer For Ben Affleck’s Basketball Drama ‘The Way Back’ Drops – Set For Release On March 6th,

Warner Bros. has finally released the first look trailer for Ben Affleck’s upcoming drama The Way Back (formerly The Has Been/Torrance) directed by Gavin O’Connor (Warrior, The Accountant).

Ben Affleck plays a widower that is struggling with his alcoholism when he’s asked to return to his old high school to help coach the former basketball team he used to play on that has been struggling.

The project mirrors Ben’s own addiction issues with alcohol, as he was undergoing recovery/treatment during the filming of The Way Back.

Jack Cunningham (Ben Affleck) once had a life filled with promise. In high school, he was a basketball phenom with a full university scholarship, when suddenly, for reasons unknown, he walked away from the game, forfeiting his future. Now years later, Jack is spiraling down, triggered by an unspeakable loss, and drowning in the alcoholism that cost him his marriage and any hope for a better life. When he is asked to coach the basketball team at his alma mater, which has fallen far since his glory days, he reluctantly accepts, surprising no one more than himself. As the boys start to come together as a team and win, Jack may have finally found a reason to confront the demons that have derailed him. But will it be enough to fill the void, heal the deep wounds of his past, and set him on the road to redemption?

Affleck has a supporting role in Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, is currently filming the erotic thriller Deep Water co-starring Ana De Armas, and is attached to play a detective in the action-thriller Hypnotic from director Robert Rodriguez.

The Way Back is set for release on March 6th, 2020.
