‘Moonlight’ Director Barry Jenkins Wants To Make A ‘Moneypenny’ Movie According To Naomie Harris

During an interview with ComingSoon, Bond actress Naomie Harris revealed that Moonlight director Barry Jenkins told her that he wanted to make a Moneypenny spinoff movie.

HARRIS: “Actually, Barry Jenkins, the director of ‘Moonlight,’ he always said that he wanted to do a Moneypenny spin-off, so maybe…”

She also confirmed that Jenkins and Bond producers spoke about it.

HARRIS: “I did. I got him together with Barbara [Broccoli], and they had a little discussion, but nothing’s happened so far, but you never know.”

Jenkins is certainly the caliber of director that I could see producers be interested in.

Harris had previously played the Moneypenny role in three installments including Skyfall and Spectre, her first appearance had established her a field agent before shooting Bond.

I’ve been vocal in the past that EON/MGM should be open to giving solo movies to both Moneypenny and Felix.

No Time To Time is expected to be the final Daniel Craig era Bond movie and it remains to be seen if current cast members will carry over to Bond 26 as they have in the past. The next Bond movie is going to likely have a brand new actor playing James Bond.

Judi Dench had played M during both the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig eras.

Naomie Harris is in talks to join the cast of Venom 2 to play Spider-Man villain Skriek, who in the comics has a relationship with Carnage and was a mutant.

No Time To Die will be released on April 8th, 2020 and Venom 2 is coming out on October 2nd, 2020.
