After reports of singer Harry Styles (Dunkirk) being in the mix to play Prince Eric in Disney’s Little Mermaid movie, there is a sign he may have closed his deal.
TheDisInsider seemingly has word that Style has landed the part and closed the deal.
A few weeks back reports surfaced that Harry Styles was in talks to play opposite of Halle Bailey in The Little Mermaid live-action remake as Prince Eric. The DisInsider has been recently informed that Styles has officially signed on to the project.
UPDATE: TheWrap disputes the reporting and suggests Styles has passed on the role.

Other cast members include Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) as Ursula, Javier Bardem (Skyfall, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as King Triton, Awkwafina (Shang-Chi, Crazy Rich Asians) as Scuttle, and Jacob Tremblay (Room, The Predator, Good Boys) as Flounder.
Rob Marshall who previously made Mary Poppins Returns, Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tide, and Into The Woods for Disney will be directing the film.
With The Lion King and Aladdin making over a billion dollars each, Disney likely has the financial incentive to keep releasing their remakes.
A release date has yet to be announced for The Little Mermaid.
In Disney’s beguiling animated romp, rebellious 16-year-old mermaid Ariel is fascinated with life on land. On one of her visits to the surface, which are forbidden by her controlling father, King Triton, she falls for a human prince. Determined to be with her new love, Ariel makes a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula to become human for three days. But when plans go awry for the star-crossed lovers, the king must make the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter.
