Former James Bond Actor Pierce Brosnan Calls For Actress To Takeover The Role

Former 007, Pierce Brosnan has stated to TheHollywoodReporter that we eventually see an actress in the James Bond after 40 years of men taking on the iconic British spy.

BROSNAN: “Yes! I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting.”

“I don’t think that’s going to happen with the Broccolis. I don’t think that is going to happen under their watch.”

Interesting enough, Lashana Lynch’s Nomi in No Time To Die is said to have taken the 007 designate at MI-6 after James Bond has retired from service to live a life of leisure in Jamacia.

“Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Daniel Craig is expected to hang up his spurs as James Bond after No Time To Die releases and the untitled Bond 26 is expected to usher in a brand new actor. There have been plenty of rumored actors via British tabloids but it remains to be seen what actually direction producers will go with the new Bond.

No Time To Die is set for release on April 8th, 2020.
