Last night, the 91st Academy Awards took place and we saw some twists alongside some expected wins as HN Entertainment live-tweeted the ceremony.
Some highlights included Marvel Studios’ Black Panther landing three awards for Best Score, Best Costume, and Best Production Design. Sony’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse also beat both Pixar and Disney Animation becoming the Best Animated film. Green Book also shocking landed the big award of the night as Best Picture.
Also, first-time nominees Regina King, Rami Malek, and Olivia Colman walked away with acting Oscars.
Black Panther a landmark film, ended up landing seven nominations including Best Picture and gave the genre a new boost of credibility within Oscar crowd. Spider-verse’s win gives Sony Pictures all they need to make a billion sequels and spin-offs.
I think it’s safe to say that the production team from Black Panther will be asked to return for Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 2.
