An interesting bit of information coming from tabloids/outlets such as ETCanada yesterday. As Blade Runner 2049 actor Ryan Gosling was spotted having lunch with director Taika Waititi in Los Angeles.
Ryan Gosling might be headed into the Marvel Universe.
The Oscar-nominated actor, 38, was spotted eating lunch with “Thor 4” director Taika Waititi on Friday in Los Angeles.
Normally, this wouldn’t be worth speculating over but Taika was announced last month as returning to helm Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder and is set to begin production on the film next August in Australia.
There is a good chance the meeting was film-related, however, Taika is also getting ready to shoot a sports film for Fox Searchlight before tackling his soccer movie about an American Soma team based on the doc Next Goal Wins. However, Gosling seems a little young to be playing Dutch coach Thomas Rongen.
Akira doesn’t seem like a possibility as character breakdowns that leaked for the WB film revealed a mostly young Asian cast was being assembled.
There is a strong possibility the former Micky Mouse Club actor could be heading the MCU.
The cast so far for Thor: Love and Thunder includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Taika returning as Korg.
Marvel recently gave the film an official release date of November 5th, 2021.
