Amid the recent announcements from both AMC Theatres and Regal Cinema that they’ll be closing their locations, AMC stating they’ll be closed from 6 to 12 weeks, Disney has now officially announced via Deadline that they’ll be delaying the release of their big Marvel Studios flick Black Widow. The MCU flick was originally set to be released on May 1st and kick-off Phase Four.
However, they don’t mention when they plan on releasing it, similar to recent release date delays of both Mulan and The New Mutants, neither have been given new dates. When we’ll ultimately be able to watch Black Widow remains to be seen. I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if they ended up giving it the Eternals release date of November 6th and moving Eternals into the Shang-Chi spot on February 12th, 2021.
Why It’s Important (!!!)
Marvel suspending the release date for ‘Black Widow’ presumably shifts all release dates for future MCU films and television projects due to their pre-planned timeline. Potentially can also result in delays for MCU Disney+ shows connected to upcoming film releases.
