The Zombieland sequel is finally coming together as the film’s production start will be in the new year. Variety is reporting the first new addition the cast is newcomer Zoey Deutch.

She will join Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin.

Director Ruben Fleischer along with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are back as well.

I previously posted the sequel’s synopsis on OmegaUnderground, it as follows.

The group will face a new zombie threat as a new breed of zombie has developed. This new super-zombie type is faster, bigger, and stronger than the previous strain of zombies and harder to kill. These super-zombies have started grouping up into a horde going from city to city leaving a path of destruction behind them.

Production will begin on January 28th in Atlanta, Georgia with an expectation to shoot some scenes in the state of Tennessee.

Sony Pictures has set the release date for Zombieland 2 for October 11th, 2019.

Nerdy college student Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has survived the plague that has turned mankind into flesh-devouring zombies because he’s scared of just about everything. Gun-toting, Twinkie-loving Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) has no fears. Together, they are about to stare down their most horrifying challenge yet: each other’s company. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin co-star in this double-hitting, head-smashing comedy.
