EntertainmentWeekly recently posted a promo image (seen above) from the upcoming live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, which revealed a new actress in the photo as Julia Jones (Westworld) that will be playing a character named Omera.
Jones can also be seen in the new trailer that was released during D23 Expo holding on to a child.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The rest of the cast includes Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Werner Herzog, Bill Burr, Mark Boone Jr., Emily Swallow, Ming-Na Wen, and possibly John C. Reilly as a Devaronian.
It was officially revealed by the outlet that The Mandalorian would explore the origin/rise of The First Order as they are the new threat of the current Skywalker trilogy.
We will see what the Star Wars universe looked like after the fall of The Empire at the end of Star Wars: The Return of The Jedi.
Lucasfilm and Disney seem to be really happy with the first season as a couple of months back they had already greenlit a second season, which HN Entertainment first reported on.
The Mandalorian will begin airing on Disney+ starting on November 12th.
