WB’s Live-Action ‘Minecraft’ Movie Officially Releasing In March 2022 – Eyes Shoot In Vancouver

Warner Bros. is making a live-action film based on the video game Minecraft and it looks like we have an official release date for the film.

Based on the globally popular video game, the story follows a teenage girl and her unlikely group of adventurers who, after the malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, must save their beautiful, blocky Overworld.

The official Minecraft website has revealed that the release date for the film will be March 4th, 2022 and that the film is indeed live-action.

Well, it looks like we may have to come up with new and funnier, punnier puns (as if that’s even possible) for future pickaxe-related musings. Why? The one above will be taken. Because today, we’re beyond excited to reveal the premiere date for the upcoming Minecraft movie!

That date is March 4, 2022. Does it sound distant? We beg to differ! It’s only 1053 days. Or about 34 months, or 150 weeks, or a million and a half minutes. Not that we’re counting, of course. Besides, it turns out that making a live-action, full-length feature film is really complicated!

HN Entertainment can add that Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is a current location the studio is considering to use for the live-action film directed by Peter Sollett.

Minecraft’s release date in 2022 would suggest that production won’t begin anytime soon.
