Watch Trailer For Michael Bay’s R-Rated Action Comedy ‘6 Underground’ Starring Ryan Reynolds – Drops December 13th On Netflix

Netflix has dropped the first footage from Michael Bay’s action flick 6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Deadpool 2) with an original script from Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

The rumored plot of the film revolves around six billionaires who fake their own deaths and form an elite team to take down bad guys.

The trailer also seemingly confirms that 6 Underground is expected to have an R-rating, as Ryan drops an F-bomb.

The rest of the cast includes Melaine Laurent (Inglourious Basterds), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Murder On The Orient Express, The Magnificent Seven), Adria Arjona (Morbius, Triple Frontier, True Detective, Pacific Rim Uprising), Dave Franco (Neighbors, Now You See Me ), Corey Hawkins (BlacKkKlansman, Kong: Skull Island, Straight Outta Compton), and Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse).

The action comedy’s budget is said to be around $150 million, making it one of the most expensive original films to ever come from Netflix.

This seemingly has Michael Bay back in his wheelhouse echoing tones of previous films like Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, The Rock, The Island, and Armageddon.

I’ll be curious to see if Netflix hopes that this becomes a franchise given Skydance’s involvement and the amount of money they’ve put into the project.

Skydance Media and Netflix will be re-teaming next year on another new action flick titled Red Notice, which will also star Ryan Reynolds alongside Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs and Shaw) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).

6 Underground will officially be released on the streaming service on December 13th.
