Watch First Trailer For Guy Ritchie’s Gangster Flick ‘The Gentlemen’ Starring Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam

STX Entertainment has unleashed the first-look trailer for Guy Ritchie’s gangster flick The Gentlemen starring Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club, True Detective) and Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim).

It’s seemingly a return for Guy Ritchie as a writer/director on the heels of the massive success of his live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin making a lot of money over the summer.

From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes THE GENTLEMEN, a star-studded sophisticated action-comedy. THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him (featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant).

Guy cut his teeth with British crime comedy films such as Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels along with his stand-out Snatch both starring future action star Jason Statham.

It’ll be interesting to see if Guy will return for the Aladdin sequel or stick to making more original films.

He already turned down the directing gig for the third Sherlock Holmes film which will be handled by Dexter Fletcher, who happens to have had a lead role in Lock Stock before pivoting towards directing films such as Eddie The Eagle and Rocketman.

The Gentlemen has been given a release date of January 24th, 2020.
