Things are coming together on Marvel Studios’ series Vision and Scarlet Witch for Disney+ as TheHollywoodReporter has revealed that screenwriter Jac Schaeffer has been hired as the showrunner for the spin-off series. Jac has writing credits on Captain Marvel and Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming solo Black Widow movie.
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are set to reprise their roles with Marvel Studios heading up its production and Kevin Feige producing it.
The Vision and Scarlet Witch, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service Disney+, has landed a writer and showrunner. Jac Schaeffer, one of the scribes behind Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel movie, has been tapped to run point on the series that will focus on the two characters that are integral members of the Avengers.
It’s been said that the Vision and Scarlet Witch series could be the first of the MCU connected shows to go into production with a Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston and a Winter Soldier/Falcon team-up show (Empire’s Malcolm Spellman is writing) starring Sebastian Stan/Anthony Mackie also in the works. A few others have yet to be made official by Marvel/Disney but are rumored, including a Rocket Raccoon and Groot show.
There is a good chance the series could be ready for when Disney+ launches in the fall.
