Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot is now in the post-production process and there is now a report that it has landed someone to compose a score for the R-rated comic book film, expected to launch the Valiant Cinematic Universe for Sony Pictures.
FilmMusicReporter has revealed that composer Steve Jablonsky has joined the film and will score Bloodshot for Sony Pictures. I’m really hoping they give the film something with energy and less generic, not unlike the synth score Junkie XL crafted for Deadpool.
Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, The Island, Deepwater Horizon, Ender’s Game, Skyscraper) has signed on to score the upcoming film adaptation of the comic book series Bloodshot.
Filming in Cape Town, South Africa has actually wrapped up recently as Bloodshot will move into post-production.
Joining Diesel among the cast includes Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Guy Pearce, Toby Kebbell, Lamorne Morris, Talulah Riley, and Johannes Haukur Johannesson. It will be the feature film debut of Blur’s Dave Wilson with a final draft of the script penned by Arrival’s Eric Heisserer.
Bloodshot is a former soldier with powers of regeneration and meta-morphing made possible through nanites injected into his blood. After having his memory wiped numerous times, Bloodshot is out to discover who he really is and get vengeance on those who did this to him.
Sony Pictures has given Bloodshot the release date of February 21st, 2020. A week after the release of Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey, I suspect they might end up moving it out of the way as both films are targeting an R-rating.
