Wes Anderson’s current film The French Dispatch is shooting and HN Entertainment has learned of an interesting crew addition as they’ve added veteran stuntman Dominique Fouassier as the film’s stunt coordinator. His credits include Ronin, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, 3 Days to Kill, Colombiana, and Michael Bay’s 6 Underground.
This could suggest action scenes might may be more similar to the pirate scene in Life Aquatic. Normally, the Wes Anderson films have very minor action in them.
The French Dispatch’s stellar cast consists of Henry Winkler, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Adrian Brody, Bob Balaban, Benicio Del Toro, Saoirse Ronan, and Timothee Chalamet.
Specific details are scarce but The French Dispatch will focus on an outpost of American news journalists located in Paris in the 20th Century (possibly pre/post War).
The of rest of the movie’s production team includes many people who have previously worked with Anderson such as The Grand Budapest Hotel cinematographer Robert Yeoman, production designer Adam Stockhausen, and costume designer Milena Canonero (four-time Oscar-winner). There is also an excellent chance that Alexandre Desplat will compose the film’s score.
Filming is currently underway in France and could be ready for an awards-friendly fall release as we suspect Fox Searchlight will nab the distribution rights to The French Dispatch, as they’ve released the last couple of films made by Wes Anderson.
