The next big Marvel Studios film to go into production will be Scarlett Johansson’s solo Black Widow film and could begin in late February or sometime in March.
HN Entertainment has now learned that Black Widow is expected to shoot in the United Kingdom.
The UK was previously a primary filming location for Spider-Man: Far From Home, Doctor Strange, Guardians of The Galaxy, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Studio stage space used for some of those projects included Pinewood Studios UK, Shepperton Studios, and Longcross Studios.
Avengers: Infinity War (possibly Avengers: Endgame scenes as well) also spent time filming in various places in Scotland.
ThatHashtagShow had reported that Croatia was one of the locales being eyed for the film (could be used for exterior location scenes) and I had previously heard that Miami, Florida could be used for a scene or two (Iron Man 3 filmed there).
Like Spider-Man: Far From Home, there is a good chance that most of this movie could be taking place in Europe as the UK makes a great homestead location to then spread out production to various mainland Europe cities for exterior scenes. Then again, England has previously doubled for New York City.
As most of the crew has been assembled, casting new roles will be the next big step for the film as character breakdowns released by ThatHashtagShow last year suggests that it’s well underway and we could be hearing news concerning that very soon.
Black Widow is without an official release date from Marvel/Disney but it’s assumed it could take the May 1st, 2020 spot.
