UPDATE: ‘Bad Boys 3’ Production Dates Revealed – Will Wrap In April

The other day we mentioned that Monday will see the kick-off of Sony’s Bad Boys 3 in Atlanta. The third film in the buddy cop action comedy franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Well, we’ve learned some other production details about the third film which includes that the Monday filming is being referred to as a pre-shoot and that the real production start date will be January 14th with a wrap date set for around April 12th.

This would suggest that Will Smith’s Bright 2 might not begin as expected in March and will get pushed into the spring/summer. Suicide Squad 2 is still up-in-the-air with James Gunn starting from scratch on the script.

Filming will also take place in Miami, Florida a primary location of the other two films.

Rumored plot details from ThatHashtagShow suggested that the two will have been separated for years with Marcus (Lawrence) now a private detective and Mike (Smith) working with a new/young partner. The two are forced to reunite as a shadowy figure places a contract on their heads.

Moroccan/Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are taking over from Michael Bay. Their upcoming release Gangsta should ease fans worried that the duo won’t be able to fill Bay’s shoes visually.

Sony has given the film a release date of January 17th, 2020.
