The Walt Disney Company has released the first official teaser trailer, as well as a teaser poster for Toy Story 4.
Tom Hank’s Woody and Tim Allen’s Buzz Lightyear both return, along with classic characters such as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Jessie, Rex the dinosaur, Hamm, an Alien and Slinky Dog, who are all dancing hand-in-hand to Judy Collins’ cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Both Sides Now’.
The newest and most bizarre addition to the gang seems to be an anthropomorphic spork named Forky, who screams: “I don’t belong here!” before making the gang topple over at the end of the dreamy trailer.
The movie’s plot synopsis reads:
“Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called ‘Forky’ to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.”
Toy Story 4 will be directed by Josh Cooley (Riley’s First Date?) and produced by Jonas Rivera (Inside Out, Up) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer on Inside Out). Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack return as the voices of Woody, Buzz and Jessie, and comedian Tony Hale lends his voice to Forky.
Toy Story 4 hits theaters on theaters on June 21, 2019.
