Variety reports that This Is Us actor Glen Powell will play real-life Navy pilot Tom Hudner in J.D. Dillard’s (Sleight) Korean War epic Devotion for Black Label Media.

J.D. Dillard has signed on to helm Korean War epic “Devotion,” starring “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Glen Powell, sources tell Variety.

The film, from Black Label Media, is an aerial war epic that tells the harrowing true story of two elite U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Tom Hudner and Jesse L. Brown, during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.

Devotion is based on Adam Makos’ novel Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice with a script penned by Jake Crane and Jonathan Stewart.

Black Label Media has been behind films such as Sicario, Sicario: Day of The Soldado, Only The Brave, and 12 Strong.

Dillard directed the film Sleight and most recently worked on Gillan Flynn’s Amazon series Utopia.

Glen Powell has a supporting role in Tom Cruise’s Top Gun sequel Top Gun: Maverick and is set for release on June 26th, 2020 by Paramount Pictures.
