Ed Brubaker might be best known for being a comic book writer and the creator of Marvel’s Winter Soldier, but has been dipping his toes in the world of television writing/producing HBO’s Westworld and creating the Amazon series Too Old To Die Young alongside Nicolas Winding Refn.
Deadline now reports that Ed has signed an overall deal with Legendary Television Studios.
Acclaimed comic book and television writer Ed Brubaker (Velvet, Criminal, Incognito, Fatale, The Fade Out) has signed a multi-year overall deal with Legendary Television Studios. Under the pact, Brubaker will adapt as well as collaborate with fellow television creators in the adaptation of some of his most iconic creator-owned properties. Additionally, he will develop original content for Legendary.
It’ll be interested in what they mean by “adaptations” and I’m hopeful that Legendary will be able to get some of the Brubaker comics into series development alongside the original ones he intends to create for them.
There is already a series based on his spy comic book Velvet in the works at Paramount Television primed to air on the Paramount Network.
A retired former spy turned secretary goes on the run after being framed for murder.
