Tom Holland appeared at D23 Expo to promote his animated film Spies In Disguise and talked to EntertainmentWeekly about the whole Spider-Man situation between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Finally breaking his silence.

HOLLAND: “Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however, we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”

While we don’t really know what the future holds between Sony/Marvel but at least Tom Holland is still optimistic about the role, which should give fans some comfort knowing he’s not some hostage.

A third solo Spider-Man filming likely on the way very soon, but when is the question as director Jon Watts hasn’t signed a deal to return.

When more information about this new Spider-Man film arrives, I’ll start reading it carefully, though I wonder, if Sony can use a chance to let Happy Hogan in for a short appearance, but who knows what will happen, but as for Venom, things could be thrilling.
