Spider-Man spinoff Venom 2 may have completed filming.
Images posted by Tom Hardy and Joshua Faulknerr on their Instagram accounts seemingly reveal that Venom 2 has either wrapped filming entirely or it’s British leg of the production. You can clearly see both director Andy Serkis and Tom Hardy in both images mentioning that production had wrapped.
However, Tom Hardy has since deleted the image which could mean that they aren’t completely finished shooting the film (San Francisco is expected to be used).
HN Entertainment previously reported that filming was taking place at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Watford, England and posted some new plot details about the film last month.
Andy Serkis is directing Venom 2 with a cast that includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying aka She-Venom, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady aka Carnage, Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison aka Skriek, and The Irishman’s Stephen Graham in an undisclosed role.
The Morbius trailer recently featured Michael Keaton’s Vulture which is the first time that one of the Spider-Man spinoffs referenced the Marvel Studios films.
There is a possibility that Venom 2 could have similar linkage as well as Sony hopes to branch-out their own cinematic universe with other spinoffs like Kraven The Hunter.
Spider-Man 3 is set to be directed by Jon Watts this summer and will continue to be set in the MCU with Tom Holland reprising the Peter Parker/Spider-Man role.
Sony Pictures has set Venom 2’s release date for October 2nd.
