Sony has dropped the first-look trailer for Tom Hanks thriller Greyhound, where Hanks returns to the WWII genre but this time tackling naval combat.
Unlike Saving Private Ryan, Greyhound is taking cues from real specific events.
In the early days of WWII, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.
Other actors joining Tom in supporting roles include Elisabeth Shue and The Irishman’s Stephen Graham.
The war flick was directed by Aaron Schneider.
Sony Pictures will release Greyhound on June 12th.
