Last week, it was reported that Justified actor Timothy Olyphant would be taking a mystery role in The Mandalorian’s second season.
That might mystery might have a new twist.
Our pals at Slash Film, who have been on top of a lot of the casting and character information for the Star Wars series is claiming that Olyphant will be wearing the Boba Fett armor in the show. They mention this could mean that he might be playing a Legends character named Cobb Vanth that is a sheriff-type character that oversees Freetown on Tatooine.
Our sources have confirmed to us that Olyphant filmed scenes wearing Boba Fett’s Mandalorian armor for the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian.
Interestingly enough, he wears Boba Fett’s scavenged armor.
They also speculated that Cobb Vanth could be that figure walking towards Fennec Shand in The Gunslinger episode, who everyone assumed is Boba Fett.
Previous reports claimed that Temuera Morrison would be playing Boba Fett which would mean that someone else could be in that armor, hence the mentioning of Cobb Vanth.
One of the rumored plot points for the Boba Fett film (never got made) going around is that they wanted to have someone else in the Boba Fett armor allowing them to cast a different actor.
Disney is adamant that Season 2 will begin airing on Disney+ sometime in October.
