Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith Join Edgar Wright’s Horror Film ‘Last Night In Soho’

Edgar Wright’s next film Last Night In Soho is quickly coming together as casting is underway.

Focus Features has announced that Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace) and Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who) have joined the film alongside previously announced Anya Taylor-Joy in the upcoming horror thriller.

As of now, additional details are being kept under-wraps regarding both projects. Wright spoke with Empire last month and stated the film will be influenced by Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, set in London, The film will shoot this June from a screenplay co-written by himself and Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful).

“I REALISED I HAD NEVER MADE A FILM ABOUT CENTRAL LONDON – SPECIFICALLY SOHO, SOMEWHERE I’VE SPENT A HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE LAST 25 YEARS,” WRIGHT SAYS. “WITH HOT FUZZ AND SHAUN OF THE DEAD YOU MAKE MOVIES ABOUT PLACES YOU’VE LIVED IN. THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT THE LONDON I’VE EXISTED IN.”

Nira Park, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Wright will produce. Focus Features and Film4 will co-finance the film. Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide.
