HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that stunt coordinator Kyle Gardiner is joining the upcoming New Line Cinema reboot of Mortal Kombat produced by James Wan, based on the popular fighting video game.
Gardiner’s credits consist of Aquaman, The Wolverine, Thor: Ragnarok, Alien: Covenant, Hacksaw Ridge, Godzilla vs Kong, Shazam!, Kong Skull: Island, and Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Mortal Kombat will be directed by Simon McQuoid from a script by Greg Russo.
Casting has yet to be announced but a rumor from ThatHashtagShow revealed that Joel Edgerton (Warrior) is wanted for the role of Kano. There is an expectation that other classic characters from the video game are being cast as well and could be filled by fellow Australian actors.
Filming will officially be taking place at Adelaide Film Studios, Glenside, South Australia, Australia.
Warner Bros. has given Mortal Kombat a release date of March 5th, 2021.
