The Ghostbusters franchise is getting another shot with writer-director Jason Reitman (Juno) making his own film that is set to be released next summer.
There is now an update concerning the film’s production team.
Our pals at DiscussingFilm have revealed that production designer Francois Audouy may have joined the production team. Audouy is best known for working alongside director James Mangold on The Wolverine, Logan, and his upcoming biopic Ford v Ferrari.

HN Entertainment previously revealed the four character breakdowns for the four new young leads of the film. The film will be primarily taking place in a small town which would explain it’s expected filming location.
Updated production info is suggesting a May-June production start possibly in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd will be producing the film which is said to be set directly in the canon of the original two films, unlike Paul Feig’s reboot which would be mostly ignored due to those characters not being connected to the original movies. There is an assumption that a couple of original actors would be reprising their roles for the movie that is being branded as sort of a sequel/soft-reboot.
Sony Pictures has set the release date for the Ghostbusters film on July 10th, 2020.
