Paramount Pictures has dropped the first footage from Terminator: Dark Fate with the teaser trailer.
I’m not terribly sure if I get a huge read on the quality of the film based on this trailer, but I think the characters look fine and there seems to be a little more CGI than I was expecting as well.
UPDATE: They’ve also posted a short behind the scenes featurette as well with some new behind the scenes footage.
The film is a direct continuation of Terminator story after Terminator 2: Judgement Day, ignoring the other films that were released. Franchise creator James Cameron is back as a producer and it was directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller. Its cast includes Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, Deigo Boneta, and Brett Azar.
Reyes’ Dani Ramos is next target for assassination by Skynet and the Terminators, as she is protected by a new hybrid Terminator played by Mackenzie Davis and a battle-hardened Sarah Connor, Linda Hamilton reprising the role.
If Terminator: Dark Fate is successful there is talk that they plan on making at least two more movies.
Filming previously took place in Spain doubling for Mexico/Guatemala and Budapest, Hungary at Origo Film Studios.
Paramount Pictures has set Terminator: Dark Fate’s release date for August 1st.
