Deadline reports that veteran Scottish actor Peter Capaldi (In The Loop) best known for the role of BBC’s Doctor Who is joining the cast of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in an undisclosed role.
We hear that Doctor Who actor and 1995 Oscar winner Peter Capaldi is boarding James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad at Warner Bros.
Also, they mention that Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson might have a small cameo as well.
We also hear that Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson has been in talks for a small cameo in the pic, and there’s a chance he’ll do it between breaks on Saturday Night Live. That deal is still coming together.
The trade report also confirms HN’s own reporting that filming would be primarily taking place at Pinewood Atlanta Studios.
Returning will be Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag.
New cast members are Idris Elba, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, John Cena, and possibly Storm Reid as Elba’s daughter.
Other recent additions include Guardians of The Galaxy actors Nathan Fillion and Steve Agee as King Shark along with German comedian Flula Borg.
Filming begins later this month.
The Suicide Squad is set to be released by Warner Bros. on August 6th, 2021.
