The Russo Brothers’ Next Film ‘Cherry’ Starring Tom Holland Eyes July 15th Production Start In Cleveland

The Russo Brothers’ follow-up to Avengers: Endgame will be a bank robber flick titled Cherry which reportedly has Spider-Man/Avengers actor Tom Holland in talks for the lead role of a veteran Army medic that turns to a life of crime.

“Cherry” parallels the true life story of the author, a former Army medic who returned from Iraq with extreme undiagnosed PTSD, fell into opioid addiction and began robbing banks.

We now have a production update on the project to share.

HN Entertainment has learned they plan on getting cameras rolling around July 15th in Cleveland, Ohio.

Last month, we revealed that cinematographer Trent Opaloch (District 9, Elysium) would be reuniting with the directors after working with them on their big Marvel Studios hits Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

The Russos previously used Cleveland for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Other films shot in the area include The Avengers, Spider-Man 3, Air Force One and The Fate of The Furious, White Boy Rick, and The Deer Hunter.

Tom Holland is currently filming reshoots for Doug Liman’s Chaos Walking and his next film Spider-Man: Far From Home releases on July 2nd.

A release date for Cherry has yet to be announced officially.
