In episode 7 of The Mandalorian, Deborah Chow returns to bring us the penultimate episode of the season. Fans went crazy for her episode titled “The Sin” weeks ago, which saw more exploration of the Mandalorian culture and badass action sequences. This episode brings us more of that, and furthers the plot and characters we’ve been introduced to throughout the season.
Mando gets a peace offering from Greef Carga, the head of the Bounty Guild, who proposes he return to Navarro and kill The Client to clear his name from the guild and take the Child with him. Eventually Dyn relents, but first he goes to recruit former allies Cara Dune and Kuill.
When the trio get back to Navarro, it becomes clear things have definitely changed since the third chapter. The Imperial remnants have grown, and we’re introduced to the sinister Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) along with his squad of Death Troopers. This episode also has a key tie-in with The Rise of Skywalker, as we see the first on-screen use of force healing from Baby Yoda.
By the time this episode ends, you just can’t wait to see what’s coming next in the season finale. As far as I’m concerned, Deborah Chow has directed the show’s two best episodes so far. For my full thoughts, be sure to check out the video below.
