It was finally confirmed that we’ll see a series focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi before the events of A New Hope and we have an idea where in the Star Wars canon it will take place.
A timeline chart released by Lucasfilm yesterday during the Disney+ Showcase at D23 Expo revealed where the Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor lands between the events of Solo: A Star Wars Story skewing closer to when Han joins the Imperial forces after trying to escape Corellia.

Kenobi and Solo are also both set between the Age of Republic and the Age of Rebellion.
It would suggest that Luke Skywalker will still be a child during the events and if we see him he won’t be the Luke we’d know from the original trilogy. Obi-Wan spends the rest of his life protecting Luke and keeping him hidden from the Empire.
Filming on the Kenobi series will begin sometime next year.
The first Star Wars series, The Mandalorian is set to start airing on Disney+ when it launches November 12th.
