Filming on Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Great Game began last month at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England. We previously reported that cinematographer Ben Davis (Layer Cake, Guardians of The Galaxy, Captain Marvel) would be behind the camera and there is another key crew member that will be reuniting with director Matthew Vaughn.
HN Entertainment has learned that Star Wars: The Force Awakens production designer Darren Gilford (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy), who previously worked on Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be returning for Kingsman: The Great Game.
Kingsman: The Great Game is a prequel film taking place after the events of World War I aka The Great War, in the wake of war and loss of life the Kingsman are formed to help protect the world. Matthew Vaughn wrote the film’s script with his writing partner Jane Goldman, who is ramping up production on the first season of The Long Night for HBO (their first Game of Thrones spinoff series).
The fantastic cast includes Ralph Fiennes (Schindler’s List, Skyfall, Bond 25), Harrison Dickinson, Gemma Arterton (RocknRolla, Clash of The Titans), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Alien 3), Daniel Bruhl, Aaron Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Kick-Ass), Djimon Hounsou (Shazam!, Guardians of The Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Gladiator), Matthew Goode (Watchmen), Stanley Tucci (Spotlight, Hunger Games, Captain America: The First Avenger), Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones), and Tom Hollander (Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tells, Hanna).
Kingsman 3 is said to be still happening and is expected to shoot once The Great Game has finished up.
20th Century Fox had originally set the film’s release date for November 8th, but there is a good chance it might be bumped to another date. Kingsman: The Great Game and Kingsman 3 will be some of the first R-rated feature films to be released by Fox while under the Disney umbrella.
