Sam Esmail is looking to end his hacker series Mr. Robot with the fourth season and we’ve learned when filming is expected to begin. HN Entertainment has learned that filming on Season 4 of Mr. Robot will begin on February 25th in New York City, New York.
Mr. Robot follows Elliot, a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect.
In October, the show’s creator Sam Esmail had revealed to Collider that Season 4 would be the final season and that it will land 12-episodes.
“I always knew what the ending of the show was, so at the end of Season 3, when we went into the writers’ room for Season 4, I said, ‘Well, here’s the ending. Here’s where we left off. How many actual episodes do we have? Let’s not drag this out anymore than we need to. What is the number?’ And we discovered that the number was 12, so that’s when we settled on. So, we said, ‘We’re here at the end. Let’s wrap it up this next season.’”
I assume that filming would wrap sometime in the summer and could begin airing in the fall.
