‘The Craft’ Remake From Blumhouse Productions Adds ‘The Witch’ Art Director

HN Entertainment has learned that The Craft remake from Blumhouse Productions has added art director Andrea Kristof, who previously worked on the stunning horror film The Witch from director Robert Eggers.

Production designer Hillary Gurtler has also joined the crew as well, who worked with director Zoe Lister-Jones on her film Band Aid.

The remake will be written and directed by Zoe with Cailee Spaeny set to star.

Cailee recently had roles in Adam McKay’s Vice, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and will be appearing in the Alex Garland series Devs set to air on FX in 2020.

Production on The Craft will begin next month in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The original was a personal favorite so I’m slightly curious to see how they’ll update and add new stuff.

The Craft is currently without a release date.

Here’s the trailer and synopsis from the original 1996 film.

After transferring to a Los Angeles high school, Sarah (Robin Tunney) finds that her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of three wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Rochelle (Rachel True) and Nancy (Fairuza Balk), like Sarah herself, all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. When a minor spell causes a fellow student to lose her hair, the girls grow power-mad.
