It’s now been confirmed that Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino will reunite with director Matt Reeves to compose the score for The Batman.

Reeves made the announcement at London’s Royal Albert Hall where Giacchino/David Arnold had been performing a concert.

The pair previously worked together on Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, War For The Planet of The Apes, Cloverfield, and Let Me In.

Michael posted a picture of the Bat-Signal on Twitter which was retweeted by Reeves reaffirming that announcement.

Michael’s staggering credits include The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible III, Super 8, Ratatouille, Speed Racer, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, John Carter, Star Trek Into Darkness, Inside Out, Jurassic World, Zootopia, Star Trek Beyond, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Coco, Bad Times At The El Royale, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Jojo Rabbit, and is expected to work on Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.

The official cast so far consists of Robert Pattinson (Tenet, The Lighthouse) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men: First Class, Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano (Looper, Prisoners, There Will Be Blood) as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, and Jeffery Wright (Westworld, Casino Royale, No Time To Die) as Jim Gordon.

They’re also still trying to cast the role of Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin and we should be getting a bunch of casting announcements soon.

Filming will take place next year at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Watford, England.

The film’s script was co-written by Matt Reeves and newcomer Mattson Tomlin (Little Fish).

There has been chatter that this new trilogy of Batman movies could introduce Robin and Batgirl. However, it remains to be seen how the new movie will fit into the bigger DC Comics universe at the studio.

Warner Bros. has set the release date for The Batman on June 25th, 2021.
