Tessa Thompson Has Heard That ‘Thor 4’ Was Pitched To Marvel – Director Taika Waititi Might Return

I think after two less than stellar Thor installments a lot of people were shocked how entertaining Thor: Ragnarok was and what Taika Waititi brought to the third film that the first two were lacking. Well, while there had been chatter that Thor 4 could happen there hasn’t been anything concerning an update, until now.

In a new interview with the LATimes, actress Tessa Thompson who plays Valkryie in the MCU revealed that a possible pitch meeting has already taken place for a fourth Thor movie and that director Taika Waititi might be coming back.

“I heard that a pitch has happened for [another “Thor” film]. I don’t know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened. I think the idea is Taika [Waititi, who directed ‘Ragnarok’] would come back.”

Taika has been busy since the release of Thor: Ragnarok with his WWII dark comedy Jojo Rabbit and directing an episode/episodes of the Star Wars Disney+ series The Mandalorian, there is also some chatter that he might end up directing WB’s live-action Akira film as they recently were approved tax incentives to film in the state of California.

Given Marvel’s already busy production schedule of films shooting in 2020, there is a good chance Taika could make another movie while they’re developing Thor 4. There is also the ramifications of Avengers: Endgame to contend with as well and who returns might depend on the characters that survive at the end of that film.
