Taylor Sheridan is the fantastic screenwriter behind Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Sicario: Day of The Soldado. He recently made his directorial debut with Wind River and the series Yellowstone. He is expected to make the upcoming action thriller Fast his feature film follow up, Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thiry, Guardians of The Galaxy) was recently in talks to take a lead role in the film.
Fast follows a former special forces commando, who’s recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.
We’ve learned from a source that Sheridan is aiming to begin filming on April 29th. Locations have yet to be revealed to us, but that could just mean they haven’t started scouting.
Chris Pratt had complicated year as two of his comic book movies were placed on hiatus. Universal Pictures seemingly pumped the breaks on Cowboy Ninja Viking as the action film with Michelle MacLaren attached to direct was in pre-production stages and eyeing a shoot in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada.
Also, James Gunn’s firing on Guardians of The Galaxy 3 threw that production into a tizzy as well, Marvel Studios handing over its production schedule to Cate Shortland’s Black Widow solo movie starring Scarlett Johansson. At the moment, Marvel is seeking a director to replace Gunn as Vice’s Adam McKay revealed to the podcast HappySadConfused he has had conversations with the studio about the sequel. Many other directors have been rumored/mentioned as meeting or talking with the studio including former Eternals candidate Travis Knight (despite a denial), who recently directed Bumblebee.
A release date has yet to be announced for Fast.
