Kingsman: The Secret Service was a critical hit, Kingsman: The Golden Circle… not so much. But that is not stopping Fox from developing a third film in the spy franchise. Sadly it sounds like Taron Egerton wont be suiting up for the next installment.
Egerton shared the shocking news with Yahoo News this week that Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn who is currently working on the next installment right now… but Eggsy will be missing in action.
When asked why he’d be left out, Egerton shared what he could:
“im not in the next kingsman movie. I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you… That doesn’t mean I won’t be a Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago and spoke to him. We’re Very much still in business together, it’s just that his next journey in that universe doesn’t involve me. Which i think is SACRILEGIOUS”
Egerton refused to give up any details on where director Matthew Vaughn planned to take Kingsman without Eggsy, but he sounds impressed by the plans.
“I think his idea for the new one is incredibly exciting, and I’m sad that I won’t be on that journey with him, but it’s not the last you’ve seen of Eggsy.”
It should come as no surprise that Egerton’s character wouldn’t appear, as the film is expected to be centered at the beginning of the organisation in 1918.
The third untitled Kingsman Film is expected to begin production early next year, and is expected to hit theaters on November 8, 2019.
