HN Entertainment has learned that Taika Waititi’s lovable rock dude Korg will not only be returning for Thor: Love and Thunder (previously hinted to at the Hall H presentation by Taika), but he’ll also have a much larger supporting role in the fourth film.
It remains to be seen how large the role will be given that Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will be sharing lead status with Chris Hemsworth, but we’re hearing it will be much more screentime for Korg than he got in Thor: Ragnarok.
In Avengers: Endgame, Thor is essentially roommates with Korg and Miek in New Asgard, growing that relationship in a sequel isn’t terribly shocking.
Plot details are scarce at the moment but it was confirmed on stage that Portman’s Jane Foster would be taking on the mantle of Thor as she has in recent comics and Thompson’s Valkyrie as the King of New Asgard will be looking for her Queen.
Filming is said to be kicking off next August at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The exact same studio facility that will be used for Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.
Marvel Studios has officially announced Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on November 5th, 2021.
