In Zod we do not trust. Syfy has canceled Krypton, the DC Comics series surrounding Superman’s home planet, just days after the second season finale.
The Superman prequel starring Cameron Cuffe failed to capture audiences again after a well-performing first season. Despite including classic villains like Braniac and Doomsday, viewers were simply not engaged enough to warrant a third season. The series kept between a measly 300,000 and 400,000 viewers throughout their sophomore outing.
In addition to Krypton, Syfy has stopped the development of the Lobo series spinoff. They debuted the character on the final season of the now-canceled show for the first time in live-action.
Perhaps the relatively small, dedicated fanbase can keep hope alive that a another network could pick up either show. The producers of the Lobo spinoff will shop the pilot elsewhere for the time being.
The first season of Krypton is available on the DC Universe streaming service.
